Deanna Hardy (speaker 10) representing the 'Committee of Liberty' said she observed that a new flag was mounted higher than a historical state flag at a recent school-board meeting and urged restoration of the historical flag in county buildings. Hardy also criticized use of municipal service fund dollars for economic development, called public-private partnerships 'fascism' in her remarks, and opposed a recent $55,000 ambulance purchase as something hospitals should cover.
Dennis Patterson (speaker 16) thanked the commission for ag-related efforts but urged more transparency in the agricultural-heritage (AHC) rezoning process. Patterson asked that the county disclose any anonymous donor paying application fees for groups of rezoning applicants and argued that retroactively legalizing previously prohibited uses through the AHC process could undermine existing community plans. Commissioners did not take immediate policy action but heard the concerns during the public-comment period.
