County community-development staff presented Ordinance 631, a zoning map amendment request to place roughly 573.48 acres in the Thatcher area into the agricultural heritage zone.
Scott Lyons of the community-development department said the Planning Commission held a public hearing on Aug. 14 and forwarded a recommendation for approval. Commissioners asked whether the Planning Commission vote was unanimous; staff confirmed the recommendation was forwarded with full approval. Commissioner Vincent moved to adopt Ordinance 631 as presented and Commissioner Perry seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Staff noted the same applicant has an agricultural-protection application that, if approved, will return to the commission at a future meeting. No amendments were made to the ordinance during the session.
