The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors approved its consent agenda and accepted several supplemental appropriations at its meeting. Finance staff recommended and the board approved acceptance of a $252,000 RSAC grant from the Virginia Department of Health toward a new ambulance, with the county covering a stated local match of $110,561.
Miss Cruz, finance staff, told the board that “the total cost of the ambulance was $362,561” and recommended a supplemental appropriation of $252,000 with a transfer of $110,561 from the general fund to the capital improvements fund. The board also accepted $210.02 in specialty license-plate remittances to support animal sterilization programs, $51,097.45 in PPE grant funds for the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, and $9,953.46 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for litter prevention and recycling programs. Each appropriation was moved, seconded and approved during the meeting.
