Bond County approves two special use permits; zoning text amendments tabled for attorney review

Zoning Administrator Brad Criner updated the Board on the SmartGov contract renegotiations that began in November and said talks are nearing resolution. He asked the Board to approve two Special Use Permits: BC-2025-04 to rezone property from A-1 to R-1 for applicant Joe Langhauser, and BC-2025-11 to rezone property from A-1 to C-2 for applicant Wayne Mollett. Both permits were approved; the BC-2025-11 vote recorded Chair Timmermann as abstaining.
Brad also presented four proposed text amendments to the Bond County Zoning Ordinance. States Attorney Dora Mann asked to review the proposed language before the Board takes final action, and the Board agreed to table the ordinance changes to the May 6, 2025 meeting for legal review.
