Commissioners allocate $100,000 for public facilities grants, authorize fuel bid notice and approve Tekoa easement

Commissioner Chad Whetzel moved, and Commissioner Tom Handy seconded, to authorize $100,000 from the .09 fund for the 2026 Public Facilities Annual Grant Awards; the motion carried. The Board also approved publishing a Notice to call for bids for the 2026 fuel contract to be opened in the Commissioners Chambers on Feb. 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Separately, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign a 10-foot right-of-way easement with Avista Utilities for county-owned property adjacent to State Route 27 in Tekoa. These actions were taken as part of routine consent and business items during the meeting.
