Waynesville Library HVAC: The board authorized staff to negotiate a contract with McGill Associates to design and manage HVAC and chiller upgrades at the Waynesville branch library (678 Haywood Street), citing failing equipment and humidity-control issues. The motion passed by voice vote.
Budget amendment (vehicle upfit): The board approved a budget amendment to appropriate fund balance to outfit a vehicle received after FY24 closed. Finance staff presented the request to upfit the vehicle so it can be placed into service.
Appointments: The board unanimously approved three appointments to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee (Savannah Anders; Lehi Cates; Lauren Wajikarama) following a unanimous recommendation from JCPC.
Closed session: The board moved into closed session under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6) to address personnel matters and later returned to open session with no further public business.
