Donaldson said building inspectors had evaluated 295 properties so far: about 117 classified as minor damage, 61 moderate and 117 major. He said 18 residents remained in shelters and that welfare teams had completed 882 of roughly 921 checks, with 39 contacts still being tracked — "not necessarily missing," he emphasized, but still requiring follow-up.
Donaldson outlined several operational needs: the U.S. Forest Service will install temporary footbridges to restore pedestrian access where creeks block routes; donation and distribution sites include Woodland Baptist, Jonathan Valley Elementary, Bethel Elementary and the fairgrounds; and volunteers are needed to sort and move supplies. He also highlighted an ongoing need for small propane tanks to support households that lost gas service.
On infrastructure, Donaldson said DOT has identified at least six impassable bridges (including Pisca Creek, Crawford Creek, Evans Cove and Coleman Mountain) and was working on temporary solutions without firm timelines. He also reported that combined rescues involving Task Force 8, local fire departments and outside teams totaled 168 people saved.
"We have had 295 evaluated... 117 with minor damage, 61 with moderate and 117 with major," Donaldson said. "We've completed 882 of those that have been contacted and everybody was okay. They are still working through 39 individuals that they're trying to locate."
