Council President Ed Smith opened the meeting by thanking organizers and volunteers for the recent Blast in the Park event at La Cygne Community Park, calling it a "fantastic event" and acknowledging the time and commitment required to stage such community activities. Reporters from Linn County News and the Linn County Journal were thanked for their support and participation at event booths.
Deputy City Clerk Alex Hadley presented the Sales Tax flyer handed out at the event and urged council members to help continue spreading the informational materials in the community. Council Member Oscar Marino thanked Linn County Journal reporter Roger Simms for assisting at the information booth.
