Council approves $45,772.87 payment to KC Gunite for pool repairs

The La Cygne City Council voted to pay KC Gunite Invoice #2675 in the amount of $45,772.87 for work on the community pool. City Clerk Jodi Wade said the work included repairing a seal joint under the stainless-steel guttering, a repair patch on a gunite wall, replacing coping along the deep end's south wall and replacing caulking around steps and coping.
Council Member Robert Sullivan asked whether the city had a maintenance agreement with KC Gunite; Clerk Wade said the city does not have a maintenance agreement with any company for the pool and that the pool's O&M manual provided by the original general contractor contains an Asset Management section covering mechanical-room components and pool elements. Council Member Jerome Mitzner moved to approve the invoice; the motion was seconded by Council Member Oscar Marino and passed 5-0.
