The commission accepted the Panama City Fire Department's 2025 Community Risk Assessment and Standards of Cover as part of the department's accreditation process through CPSE/CFAI. Staff described the CRA/SOC as a data-driven analysis that identifies city-specific hazards and establishes performance objectives, deployment strategies, and service-level benchmarks.
Commissioners lauded the department's long service and operational readiness: "Fire put this on consent, and I didn't think that it needed to stay on consent, which when we wound up usually we don't have 2 items on consent," one commissioner said, highlighting the department's local knowledge and multi-disciplinary response. The motion to accept the document passed unanimously (5 to 0).
