Council assigns committee chairs and liaison posts for 2026

Council President Garry Thompson reviewed committee and liaison assignments for 2026 and named chairpersons for each committee: Finance Committee – Megan Coy; Legislation Committee – Jacklyn Bartkowski; Insurance Committee – Scott Saari; Community Development Committee – Garry Thompson; Safety Committee – Jennifer Jansen; Service Committee – Brett Iafigliola; Utilities – Anita Greller. He asked council members to return preferred Community Development meeting dates and recommended using Council Chambers for committee meetings so clerk can record proceedings for transcription.
Thompson said he updated council rules and sent them to Law Director Max Rieker for review before sending them to council for approval. He also encouraged early discussion of items that may require multiple readings so research and modifications can occur prior to third reading deadlines.
