County staff reported two applicants, Diane Burnell and Sue Holden, for East Missoula council partial terms and said the board was operating with low membership. Staff recommended filling seats to restore membership and suggested it was within the council's discretion to grant a three-year term to one applicant.
A staff member said, "We had 2 applicants, Diane Burnell and Sue Holden, would like to also rejoin due to low, members on the board." Council members moved and seconded to offer a three-year term to one applicant (Sue Holden); the motion passed by voice vote with all members present saying "Aye." Staff noted one partial term remained vacant after the vote.
The appointment was approved during the meeting and staff will follow up on remaining vacancies and term paperwork.
