The Road Fund totals $2,218,661.00; the Jail Fund $1,020,980.00; the Solid Waste (WRIS) Fund $909,000.00. Capital projects include $750,000 earmarked for pavilion construction in the budget documents.
County Judge Executive Scott Travis reviewed expected revenue sources before the court voted. The county clerk and fiscal staff provided the supporting revenue detail showing $4,094,000 in tax revenues and a total of $9,228,335.40 projected for the General Fund. A notice in the meeting record cites the State Local Finance Officer’s guidance that no county expenditures may be legally made after July 1 until a budget is adopted and filed with the Department for Local Government.
The motion to approve the second reading and adoption was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote with the recorded absence noted in the minutes. The ordinance requires publication by title and summary in The Spencer Magnet within 30 days, and the Judge was directed to provide the Department for Local Government a copy of the approved budget as required.
