Fire Chief Matt Sheehan told council the department's new engine was delivered on Dec. 1 and appeared at the Village Green tree-lighting event. "The new engine was delivered on December 1st and made an appearance bringing Santa to the tree lighting ceremony at the Village Green," the minutes record. Sheehan said radios and hardware remain to be installed before the engine enters service.
Separately, the council moved to suspend the rules, waive the reading and adopt Resolution 63-2025 to accept an anonymous monetary donation for the police department. Mr. Chitester moved to adopt after waiving reading; the minutes record the poll as 6 ayes; 0 nays; 1 abstain (Saari). Council members thanked the donor in remarks recorded in the minutes.
