Board reappoints Clifton, Larson and Allen as FY24/25 auditor

The Avon Board of Finance voted unanimously on April 28 to appoint Clifton, Larson and Allen as the town’s auditors for fiscal year 2024–25.
Finance Director Tom DiStasio told the board the appointment is an annual requirement of the Town Charter and that the State Office of Policy and Management requires the auditor appointment be reported by June 1. "We already have a contract with Clifton, Larsen, and Allen; they've been our auditors for a number of years now," DiStasio said, and the recommendation was to formally appoint them to complete the FY 24/25 audit. The board approved the appointment on a motion by Brian Loveless, seconded by Micah Rousey; Gisnarian, Johnson, Loveless, Lowry, Rousey, Salchert and Szekeres voted in favor (7-0-0).
The audit is expected to begin over the summer of 2025 with issuance of the financial statements projected before the end of the calendar year.
