Airport apron, PAPI and AWOS projects move forward; fuel‑farm grant still pending

City Engineer Glenn Davis updated the committee that the airport apron contractor is coordinating solutions for water and electrical details; final construction timing is being resolved. He said PAPI (precision approach path indicators) work is scheduled to proceed with about a 12‑month construction window, and that AWOS site adjustments were approved by the FAA with an easement pending from the property owner prior to a May design‑grant application.
Davis said the airport fuel‑farm grant was initially denied but staff are exploring other grant opportunities. No council action was requested; staff will return with updates as grant opportunities or contractor schedules change.
"The location site was adjusted and then approved by FAA so everything seemed to be on board for a grant application in May," Davis said of the AWOS item.
