Trustee Sue told the board that the library's bookshop continues to generate modest revenue: November sales were $382 and December sales were $483, short of the $500 monthly minimum goal. She said the group received a large donation recently and volunteers are stocking a Little Free Library at a local mall to distribute unsold books and reach patrons.
Sue also said the library's membership campaign opened this season and exceeded its target in the first week, relying on many lifetime members and asking trustees who have not yet joined to do so. The board discussed a winter concert series beginning Jan. 25 featuring the Vermont Youth Orchestra and encouraged trustees to support outreach for events.
On fundraising, committee members said they met and will meet again on the 15th to identify grant opportunities; trustees discussed appeal letters and end-of-year donations. The foundation report asked trustees to prepare an end-of-year summary for the foundation in February and to support social posts for fundraising outreach.
Trustees also discussed light volunteer activities including a proposed "book cart drill team" and T-shirt ideas for volunteers; Marjorie and Teresa volunteered to organize that event.
