Upper Minnesota River Watershed District updates board; Jon Bork reappointed as manager

Amber Doschadis, administrator of the Upper Minnesota River Watershed (UMRW), and Jon Bork, Traverse County’s UMRW representative, told the board UMRW covers about 500 square miles and that Traverse County comprises roughly 30 of those square miles. Doschadis said the district recently completed the Toelle Coulee Phase 1 project in Browns Valley to improve ditch flow and is beginning Phase 2, which targets improvements in the 100-year floodplain.
With no other letters of interest, Jon Bork expressed a desire to continue serving as Traverse County’s watershed manager; the board reappointed him unanimously, 4-0. The appointment and the update were presented as part of the district’s annual report to the board.
