General Assembly budget includes teacher raises, construction grants and targeted special-education funding

"It did include a, teacher salary increase and included, new school construction grants, or additional money for that," he said, and he also listed targeted money for special education add-ons, infrastructure and per-pupil funds.
Andrews said the legislature also funded a joint committee on secondary education funding that will resume work after recommendations tied to past reviews. He urged the committee to expect outreach from district departments as bills are translated into local policy and regulation, adding that some implementation work will appear in August and September as the district adjusts to the new statutory directions.
