Sheridan County Fire Warden Chris Thomas told commissioners the restrictions mirror last year’s approach but include adjusted dates; open burning, including ditch and field burns, will be prohibited while backyard fires may continue under specified safety guidance. Commissioner Holly Jennings moved to approve the resolution and the motion passed unanimously. Thomas said staff will re-evaluate the need for a broader ban if moisture arrives.
