Cameron (staff S9) told the board the comparable spring collection last year cost about $8,500 and said, “So if you authorize about 9,000, that really covers it.” Commissioner Ganz (S3) moved to approve the request from the City of Sheridan for $9,000 from GPET resources for the spring cleanup; the motion was seconded by S5 and carried on a voice vote. The board clarified the funding covers county residents in unincorporated areas only; incorporated towns would need separate arrangements with the city.
Board members discussed budget treatment for the fall cleanup and noted the county previously reduced the overall cleanup allocation from $13,000 to $5,000 during budgeting, leaving nothing earmarked for the upcoming spring event. Staff said the fall allocation can be revisited during the next budget process. The motion passed by voice vote and the meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.
