County clerk to reorganize office roles and launch digitization of board files

County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson told the Board she plans to reorganize office roles to better reflect current duties and will pull the deputy clerk position, rename positions and adjust pay grades within the existing budget. Thompson said the changes are intended to improve efficiency and better align titles and responsibilities with actual work.
Thompson also proposed a temporary archiving project to digitize board files currently held in the county garage. She said funding for the digitization would come from her current budget and that the project timeline will depend on scope; she will coordinate with the finance committee, auditors and software vendors to set priorities and training requirements.
