Two neighborhood leadership teams provided brief updates to the council July 27. Amy Ohoite, co‑chair of the University District Leadership Team and a small business owner, said the group replenished reflective pedestrian crossing flags along 5th and 6th, is planning a neighborhood meeting Sept. 9 at Bonnar Park (topics: parking, zoning, University of Montana updates), and donated leftover FY2026 funds to parks to replace bear‑resistant trash cans in Jacob's Island.
Jen Worrell, representing the Franklin‑to‑Fort leadership team and speaking remotely, reported participation in a June 23 City Chat event and said the group will host an Aug. 14 ice‑cream social in conjunction with FrontStep Community Land Trust’s outdoor cinema at Franklin School. Worrell also encouraged neighbors to take a still‑open survey through September, with respondents entered to win a $200 WinCo gift card.
