"This year, we'll be offering 8 8 1 week sessions, each featuring a unique theme designed to keep participants engaged," staff stated during the presentation. Staff estimated weekly capacity at about 90 participants and said last year averaged about 80 participants per session across age groups.
Staff also highlighted a new "Little Learners" dual‑language program aimed at introducing English and Spanish vocabulary and cultural exploration. The program runs four‑week sessions and currently averages about 11 participants per session; staff noted that the local school district's free pre‑K offerings have affected enrollment but said the program meets a community demand for diversified early‑learning options.
Commissioners asked about fees and affordability. Staff said the Riverside County Office of Education can subsidize costs by reimbursing families who submit receipts, but families pay upfront and staff will confirm whether the county assistance is needs‑based.
