Murrieta expands Concerts in the Park; staff to pilot beer garden at three summer shows

Murrieta’s special‑events team presented an expanded Concerts in the Park schedule and a new pilot to permit beer sales in a fenced area at select shows. Laura Frosso, the city’s special event supervisor, said this is the first year the summer series extends into August and highlighted a line‑up that includes tribute bands and local performers.
"We are going to have a beer garden pilot program... and we've never done this before at concerts in the park," Laura Frosso said, describing a small fenced area managed by the vendor with a planned profit share to support the parks program. Staff said the pilot will run for the last three concerts starting Aug. 15, will be managed under the vendor’s permit, and could be revised or discontinued based on results and community feedback.
Staff also reviewed signature events through December — a Sept. 11 tribute at the amphitheater, a Veterans Day parade and a December tree‑lighting — and invited commissioners to participate in promotion and sponsorship discussions. The commission asked clarifying questions about time, location and permit limitations; staff said details will be finalized and provided in follow‑up materials.
