Traverse County Historical Society seeks more county funding for restorations and insurance

Don Montonye appeared before the Board representing the Traverse County Historical Society to present the group's 2026 budget request. Montonye told commissioners the society receives very little from donations and said it "will appreciate any funding that the County offers." The Board did not set a dollar amount during the meeting and will consider the request as part of the broader 2026 budget process.
