Traverse County approves roadway and signage contract, enters LRIP joint agreement with Wheaton

Highway Department County Engineer Chad Gillespie asked the Board to approve the previously awarded Tied Roadway Project SAP 078-609-021 and SAP 078-702-003 Sign Project contract. "Gillespie asked for approval of the previously awarded Tied Roadway Project SAP 078-609-021 and SAP 078-702-003 Sign Project Contract," the record states. The contract was approved unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Dwight Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Kayla Schmidt. The Board also approved a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Wheaton for the LRIP project (motion by Commissioner Chad Metz, seconded by Nelson).
Gillespie told the Board the highway department plans additional shouldering work this year and has moved a picnic shelter at the county park. He said the park will be closed for a short portion of the contractor's work and that the county will post the schedule on its website and in local papers when it is available.
