Commissioners appoint Joshua Smith to Parks board, add five members to Food & Farm Council

The Harvey County Commission unanimously appointed Joshua Smith to the Parks Advisory Board for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and approved five appointments to the Food & Farm Council covering representatives for at-risk populations, farming, agriculture, seniors and the local health department.
The Harvey County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Joshua Smith to a three-year term on the Parks Advisory Board starting Jan. 1, 2026, after Parks Director Kass Miller told the commission the Parks Board had voted to recommend his appointment. Commissioner Terry Scott moved to appoint Smith and the motion passed without objection.
Health Department Director Lynnette Redington presented five additional appointments to the Harvey County Food & Farm Council. The board approved Kendra Davila to represent an organization serving at-risk populations through Dec. 2026; Wenda Black as a farming representative through Dec. 2026; Madison ("Maddi") Mosiman for an agricultural organization through Dec. 2028; Patsy Penner for seniors/older adults through Dec. 2028; and Katharine Moffitt as the local health department representative through Dec. 2028. Becky Reimer moved the motion and it passed unanimously. The appointments were recorded in the meeting minutes and in the corresponding appointment forms.
