Board adopts seven ordinances revising traffic, committee duties and other code items
Summary
The Lamar Board of Aldermen unanimously adopted Ordinances Nos. 1953–1959 after two readings each, covering traffic regulation changes, public expenditures committee duties, tax-book procedures, abatement lien certification, firefighter appointment rules and code cleanup.
The Board unanimously passed seven ordinances on July 20 after each bill received two readings and roll-call approval.
Council Bill No. 1971 (Ordinance No. 1953) amends Section 46-76 and repeals other traffic-related sections. Council Bills 1972–1977 updated duties of the Public Expenditures Committee, tax-book procedures, certification of abatement cost and lien payment, firefighter appointment language, references to city jail/prison, and mayoral provisions consistent with RSMo §79.120. Each measure was presented in advance, read by title, and approved on both readings with unanimous roll-call votes. The Mayor declared each bill duly adopted and the ordinances were signed and attested by the city clerk.
The measures reflect routine code maintenance, governance clarifications and specific regulatory changes such as traffic-code amendments. No dissent was recorded in the minutes.
