The board voted to grant a special exception allowing the removal of a blighted residence on Colonial Highway and placement of a double-wide manufactured home on the same site. Staff and the planning commission vetted the request; staff presented photographs and a set of recommended conditions including demolition permit prior to placement, issuance of well and septic permits by the Virginia Department of Health before occupancy, and securing a driveway permit through VDOT.
Staff reported the planning commission provided a positive recommendation after a prior hearing (vote details provided in the planning materials). The motion to approve the special exception with staff conditions was made by Speaker 10 and seconded by the chair. The clerk announced the motion passed with a 4–0 tally.
