The Nottoway County Board of Supervisors voted Jan. 16 to sell two county-owned parcels and authorized county administration to complete related contracts after legal review. Supervisor [name withheld in transcript] moved to approve sale of tax parcel 52-11 (225 Butterwood Trail) for $135,000; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
"I'd like to move to approve the sale of tax parcel 52-11... otherwise known as 225 Butterwood Trail, Blackstone, for the price of $135,000," a supervisor said during the meeting, and the sale carried by voice vote. The board also approved sale of part of tax parcel 43-130 (Dominique Corner Road, roughly 8.4 acres) for $130,000; supervisors discussed that the purchaser would likely bear survey costs and that the administrator should be allowed to execute documents contingent on counsel's review.
The administrator and staff clarified that legal descriptions and deeds are being finalized and that the purchaser will generally be responsible for any required surveys. The board additionally voted to give the county administrator authority to sign sale-related documents, provided legal counsel has approved the language. No public speakers addressed either parcel during the hearings.
