Christy Yaros, Registrar of Voters, told the board that the referendum returned 924 yes votes and 913 no votes out of 1,837 ballots cast, a 13.9% turnout that included 17 absentee yes votes and 8 absentee no votes. On a motion by Micah Rousey, seconded by Carl Gisnarian, the board voted in favor (Gisnarian, Johnson, Lowry, Rousey, and Szekeres) and carried the motion 5-0-0 to set the rate at 30.75 mills based on the referendum outcome.
The adopted rate implements the town’s FY2025–26 tax levy calculations as presented on the meeting agenda. The board’s unanimous vote formalizes the result reported by the registrar; the minutes note that official minutes become final only after approval at the next meeting. The meeting record states the special meeting opened at 8:15 p.m. and adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
