Tom DiStasio, Finance Director, presented the item as a supplemental appropriation to move funds from Other Financing Sources, Use of Committed Fund Balance to Sewage Collection & Disposal, Town of Farmington. On the motion, Micah Rousey moved and Brian Loveless seconded; Gisnarian, Loveless, Lowry, Rousey, Salchert and Szekeres voted in favor (6-0-0).
Town materials in the minutes record that Larry Baril, Town Engineer, explained the regional treatment arrangement: "Larry Baril, Town Engineer explained that Avon does not have a treatment plant, we send our sewer to Farmington, Simsbury and Canton." The appropriation records show the payment is to purchase additional flow capacity from Farmington.
Board members did not record further debate in the public minutes; the motion passed without amendment. The action is recorded to ensure Avon has contracted capacity for anticipated sewer flows and to reflect the prior intermunicipal arrangements.
