"The option that was presented, we felt the best option... which each year will be 68,300," Meter said, adding the county paid about $23,733 to cover the remainder of 2026 and that a higher-priced $83,487 option was rejected as too expensive. He asked the commission to consider a budget enhancement for 2027 and beyond to cover the subscription for multiple years to avoid annual renegotiation.
Commissioners thanked the under sheriff for the explanation; no formal motion or vote occurred during the hearing. Questions and any final appropriation decisions were deferred to the broader budget process when certified revenue figures are presented.
