Library moves forward on records center expansion and executive hires; shifts HR to state shared services

Librarian Dennis T. Clark told the board the State Records Center expansion project remains on schedule and within budget and will provide 42 miles of new shelving capacity, intended to accommodate 20–25 years of collection growth.
Clark said a design firm has been selected for architectural and engineering work on public spaces and that the Library contracted with an executive search firm to identify candidates for the Deputy Librarian role; negotiations are underway with a preferred candidate for Chief Technology Officer. To reduce costs and improve efficiency, the Library will discontinue its internal human resources unit and use the Department of Human Resource Management's Shared Services Center for HR functions.
