Service Director Joe Borczuch told Olmsted Falls City Council on Jan. 27 that building activity produced a marked increase in revenue: "the 2024 revenue was $182,000 and increased to $860,000 last year," and he said he will bring monthly building reports to council.
Borczuch said the city will receive $134,500 from the county reimbursement program for eligible county roads and that the city received $25,844 from the NOPEC Energized Community NEC Grant for service and fire department uses. He described ongoing supply delays for rock salt and requested a requisition for 1,000 tons to Cargill; the discussion references $73,989 in the staff packet, while the approved motion recorded an amount "not to exceed $73,980." Council approved the requisition by poll vote, 7 ayes; 0 nays. Borczuch noted the city can store about 500 tons and that increasing storage (a new shed) would cost an estimated $50,000–$75,000.
Council also approved Resolutions 08-2026 and 09-2026 to participate in county maintenance and to solicit bids for the annual street maintenance and rehabilitation program; Borczuch said formal requisitions and bids will return to council for budget-related approvals.
