County Clerk Rick Piepho presented the required annual claims and staff verification from the Harvey County Economic Development Council indicating both Budde Enterprises, Inc. and Scorpius Industries, LLC met the terms of their exemptions.
Piepho's memo recorded exempt valuations and estimated tax savings: for Budde Enterprises (parcel #00670C) the 2024 exempt appraised value was $2,144,580 with a total tax savings of $62,120.98 (county portion $23,387.72). For Scorpius Industries (parcel #00757B) the 2025 exempt appraised value was estimated at $566,490 with total tax savings of $18,455.32 (county portion $6,177.88). Commissioners certified compliance and authorized the chair to sign the required certifications by motion; both motions passed unanimously.
Staff noted the Budde exemption is a 10‑year, 100% exemption that ends in tax year 2027; the Scorpius exemption is a tiered 10‑year exemption beginning in tax year 2025.
