The chair and several members said the July city-council discussions suggested a joint meeting now could be unproductive and possibly inflammatory; others warned that pausing the project cycle risks losing support for NCIP. "I do not think meeting with the council at this time would be productive," the chair said, recommending the committee wait until there is more stability around council composition and the budget. Several members recommended interim one-on-one briefings with council members instead of a full joint session.
The committee passed a parallel motion to return two failed items (the Fairgrounds lighting and the Moonrise/Via Arbalest curb ramp) to a future meeting with a recommendation for defunding or formal closeout, and staff will notify project proponents of the upcoming agenda items.
