The Chicopee City Council Zoning Committee voted June 24 to rezone 11,257 square feet at 799 Front Street from Business A to Residence A to permit a single‑family home.
Applicant Sergey Kucherenko told the committee he sought to “convert this property from commercial zone to residential zone.” Planning had recommended approval by a 5–0 vote. Councilor Samuel Shumsky moved to close public input and then moved to approve; both motions were seconded by Councilor George Balakier and carried on roll call.
The committee record shows the Planning Board recommended approval, and the roll‑call vote recorded all five members present as affirmative. No public speakers opposed the application at the hearing.
