Commissioners approve rezoning for BJ Ventures to enable nine-lot development

Toby Stewart presented a rezoning request (RZ 26-07) by BJ Ventures LLC to change an 80+/- acre tract north of SW 40th St. from AG-40 to RE, which would allow a proposed nine-lot preliminary plat with lot sizes between about five and 17.9 acres. Stewart noted the property is inside the county's urban growth area and that rural water would need to be extended from SW 40th St. to serve the project.
The Planning Commission recommended approval 5-0. Commissioner Kelly Herzet moved to approve Resolution No. 26-26 for the rezoning; Commissioner Darren Jackson seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
