Property owner Dan Osborne requested a column-height variance for 1116 Bellewood Road to install two 8-foot-tall stone columns with 8'6" gates at the Bellewood entrance and two 5-foot-tall stone columns with 5'6" gates at the Cherry Lane entrance. Osborne agreed to match the height of neighboring columns and "confirmed that real whole limestone (versus veneers or thin slices) will be used to construct the columns," per the minutes.
Councilmember Diane Cook moved to approve a pair of 6'7" tall columns for the Bellewood Road entrance and a pair of 5' tall columns for the Cherry Lane entrance, plus gates, conditioned on Historic Preservation Commission approval. Hunter Wilson seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
