Long Prairie council approves $22,455 invoice for road construction testing

The Long Prairie City Council on Aug. 19 approved a $22,455.10 invoice from Braun Intertec for construction testing related to the city's road project. Council member JoAnn Schroeder moved to approve the invoice; the motion carried unanimously.
City Engineer Kent Louwagie told the council the contractor completed gravel shouldering where pavement meets gravel, replaced topsoil, began seeding and plans to overseed the project area in September while finishing punch-list items. The council approved payment as part of routine project closeout and testing expenses.
The vote came during the council's new-business agenda and was one of several motions addressing the ongoing road project. The council recorded the motion as unanimously approved; no member registered opposition.
