Council tables impervious-surface variance for 12301 Locust Lane after neighbor concerns

Chad Weber told the Anchorage City Council he proposes a home addition that would increase the property’s impervious area to about 7,705 square feet—approximately 735 square feet over the limit. Weber proposed reconstructing and lengthening an existing swale with a 1% slope, 1.5-foot depth and 'V' notched weirs to mitigate stormwater runoff.
Neighbor Laura Sisler raised concerns about removal of trees and vegetation and potential changes to the existing berm. Councilmember Diane Cook suggested Weber prepare a landscape plan that incorporates the 'V' notched weir design, obtain Sisler’s approval of that plan, and return to council next month; the variance was tabled pending that follow-up.
