Council approves minutes, hears treasurer's note; city announces holiday closures and town-hall date

The Anchorage City Council approved the Dec. 9, 2024 regular meeting minutes on a motion by Diane Cook, seconded by Patrick McMahon; the motion passed unanimously. Mayor Neil Ramsey noted he had reviewed a projected prior calendar year annual income statement and stated that additional police department expenses approved last month should not greatly impact the current fiscal year.
Ramsey also announced that City Hall and the Public Works Department will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and that the Winter Bowl/Town Hall meeting will be held Feb. 2. Forestry Board Chair Jan Ruzich reported the board is preparing for the annual Arbor Day tree give-away in March. The meeting adjourned at 6:22 p.m. after a motion by Cook and second by Wilson.
