Emily Paprocki presented plans on behalf of Matt and Emilie Delehanty for a detached garage at 11602 Ridge Road, explaining that an existing shed sits 3 feet from the northwest property line and that the proposed garage would have an 8-foot side-yard setback. The applicants requested a 7-foot variance from the required 15-foot setback; staff noted the site constraints (pool, decking and mature trees) limited other placement options.
Bill Wetherton moved to grant the requested 7-foot variance; Karin Tyrer seconded. Matt Delehanty recused himself from the vote and the remaining council members approved the motion. Administrative Officer Reneé Major told the council the proposed floor plans do not include a full kitchen, which the city prohibits in accessory structures.
