Commissioner Larry Maynard raised his proposal, previously discussed on July 9, to transfer a section of District 3 into District 4 to even the number of electors across districts. Commissioners discussed the objective of keeping elector counts nearly the same and explored next steps for formalizing the change.
The Commission directed Town Attorney Robert Eschenfelder to prepare an ordinance reflecting the proposed boundary change. Officials also noted that a citizen committee to review districts could be established after the next election. No ordinance was introduced or adopted at the workshop; the action was a directive to staff to draft proposed legislation.
