County engineers outline timeline for Bridge 27 and a 45-day closure for Bridge 105

County engineering staff briefed commissioners on two bridge projects that will affect travel in Adams County.
On Bridge 27 (a federal-aid project coordinated with INDOT), staff said bids have come in and INDOT has agreed to proceed; the contractor’s notice-to-proceed depends on the low bidder’s availability and could arrive as soon as this fall or may be deferred to spring. "INDOT has agreed to proceed with the project, so we received an invoice," the county engineer said during the update.
For Bridge 105, a locally funded project on County Road 000 between 203 Hundred South, the contractor (Milestone) scheduled work to start Aug. 24 with a closure of approximately 45 days. Staff committed to preparing maps and using social media and other channels to notify commuters and the school about detours and timelines. The board emphasized early public notification and coordination with the school district to minimize disruption during harvest season.
