Assembly approves first reading of zoning amendment for tideland parcel

On Feb. 2 the Petersburg Borough Assembly approved Ordinance #2026-04 on its first reading. The ordinance amends the official zoning map for Service Area 1 to rezone a parcel of borough tideland industrial (I-1) within the Marine Industrial Overlay Zone Subdistrict.
The motion to approve first reading was made by Assembly Member Scott Newman and seconded by Assembly Member Jeff Meucci; the roll-call vote was unanimous. The ordinance will continue through the borough's ordinance process with further readings or administrative steps as required.
