Council Member Kwapick reported that he, Mayor Fischer, City Administrator Bryce Shearen and Assistant City Administrator Laura Linehan met to discuss legislative priorities and that the city will create a legislative subcommittee to develop an annual legislative engagement plan. "They will be creating a legislative subcommittee to create a legislative plan that can be used each year to engage and make requests of the legislature," Kwapick said.
Kwapick also highlighted community outreach efforts tied to summer events: the 4th Annual Little Canada Food Drive will take place during the Ice Cream Social on July 30 and residents are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items; a local organization will also accept fresh produce, clothing and food donations.
No formal vote was required to create the subcommittee at this meeting; staff will follow up on structure and membership in future meetings.
