Ramsey County official outlines 2026 election procedures, mail-in ballot deadline

He said some school districts are pushing back on serving as polling locations and that where schools do not close, counties and cities coordinate with school security. "They work closely with the security team to ensure safety," Triplett said.
Triplett also reiterated a statewide deadline for mailed ballots: "the mail-in ballot needs to arrive at the office by 8 p.m. on Election Day." The briefing aimed to reassure council members about processes and to encourage resident participation as judges and poll workers ahead of the fall cycle.
The City Clerk Heidi Heller introduced Triplett and the council did not take action on election policy at this meeting; residents seeking Election Judge information were directed to Ramsey County resources and the county's sign-up process.
